Disposal operated by stopper switch which wears out and renders disposal inoperable.
Quiet and powerful.

Installed this myself recently. If you're even slightly mechanically inclined, it's an easy install. It's our first waste disposer, so I have nothing to compare it to. However, it's very quiet and powerful. So far it's handled all I've thrown into it - fruit (including whole plums with the pits, meat, rice, pasta, bananas, celery. I'm sure it will handle bones fine as well. I like the fact that's it's a batch feed vs a continuous feed. This is the only batch feed I found that was 1 HP. I'm not 100% sure, but I think Insinkerator makes these for KitchenAid, and this unit appears to have all the high end components that the Insinkerator Excel has, but it's batch feed vs Insinkerator continuous feed.

I recenty purchased this to replace my twenty year old kitchen aid disposal. This chops everthing and it runs so quite. Looking forward to the same service life.

I replaced a Kitchen Aid Batch Feed Food Disposer with this unit after 13 years of use. The reson why I choose Kitch Aid was my satisfaction with with my old unit. I have the new unit for nearly a month. Therefore, it is too early to coment on the performance.
